colon cleansing????????????

Saturday, February 13th, 2010

I have been trying to lose weight, I’m doing good so far, Someone told me i should use colon cleanser to clear all the old foods in my body?

I am willing to try this; but what is the best one?

& how should I do it? I don’t wanna use it to fast so i won’t gain back all the pounds.

Also, colon cancer runs in my family serverly, so by doing this can it help prevent it?

There are colon cleans capsules sold through health food stores. When I purchased one for my husband I made sure that the label said "gentle".

The other things that help the colon is lots of vegetables, brown rice, and fruit. Things that are binding are flour products, cheese and dairy. A lack of water is also very binding because low water intake makes the stools very hard.

Beans of any kind, stews, salads are all good for your digestion. A probiotic is a source of good bacteria that helps the digestion. One theory about cancer is that it is due to fungus. www.cancerfungus.com has information about this. I have now read this from more than one different source (that cancer is caused by fungus). On the website address I gave you is an oncologist who wrote a book about this. If this is true, then probiotics help kill the bad bacteria that can lead to fungus problems.

Health is not a one step process but rather many steps, that make up the whole.

One diet that is supposed to be medically proven to have the most benefits health wise is the mediterranean diet. The link below is a great website to find out about this. Medical studies validate this as one of the healthiest diets to use.

Try eating better one step at a time. Oatmeal in the morning is said to help people lose weight. It tastes food, has fiber, and gives you good energy. This would be a good first step.

The second link below is an article about oatmeal. I eat it raw. I purchase old fashioned oats, wash them off in a screen colander, place in a bowl, add rice milk and a sweetener, and I find it delicious.

There you go. Hopefully you feel like I answered your question.

Can I trust the colon cleanse and acai berry?

Friday, February 12th, 2010

I want to lose weight fast, I mean who doesn’t, but I don’t know if I should trust the colon cleanse acai berry thing. I know it was on oprah.

Trust neither.
Acai berry will not aid weight loss. There are more antioxidants in fresh berries bought locally. Antioxidants do nothing to help weight loss.

The colon is self cleansing. It does not have (quote from link above) " all of this trapped in your colon, you are literally poisoning yourself little by little every day" That is 100% rubbish.

Anyone interested in detoxifying their body might think about paying a little more attention to their body and less attention to the people trying to get their money. The body already has nature’s most effective detoxification system. It’s called the liver.

Colon cleansing can cause a dangerous loss of water and electrolytes, which can lead to dehydration and even abnormal heart rhythms.

how can i lose 50lbs in 2-3 months?

Monday, February 8th, 2010

well, im 130lbs, 5ft, and 11 years old, please dont say thats too young….i HATE my weight, and no madder what you say i wont change!!!
no acie berry, or colon cleanse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i just need a good diet plan, and a great excersize routine
i wanna be 80-90lbs!!!!!!
pleaaassee be nice!!!!
and the best answer=10 points

According to the body mass index you are slightly overweight at 130 pounds. And at 80 you would be underweight. The index is not perfect, but somewhere in the middle seems reasonable. 50 pounds in 2-3 months is just too much. Your body thinks it is being starved with rapid weight loss. That much that fast and other things would begin to happen like hair loss. Visit a dietitian or your health care provider to get advice on how to lose weight safely.

Does anyone know of or has tried a good colon cleanse?

I’ve heard that you should do a colon cleanse 1-2 times per year. About 3-4 years ago the doctor told me I had IBS with constipation, he wanted me to take this powder that was spendy and didn’t do anything. I stopped taking it and just accepted that I was constipated all the time. I would be in extreme pain from it. Well about 7 months ago they found cancer in my dad’s colon. They think they got it all and he has been through chemo. That’s when I realized how important it is that I do something about my IBS and that it wasn’t healthy to be sooo backed up. I started to treat it myself. Eating Fiber One bars, drinking extra water, eating lots more fruit and just eating better in general. This has gotten me to be regular. My thing is if normal people have toxins in their colon and body then I know I have A LOT. If I could go back I wouldn’t have let my IBS get so out of control. Does anybody have any recommendations on Colon Cleanse pills. I’ve been googling it for a few weeks and my head is spinning with all the products and reviews out there!

Hi Macy,

First thing, I’m really hope that the got all of your dad’s cancer. Second thing, I think it’s great that you want to address your digestive system now and improve it. 10 years ago, I was in a similar position as you. At that time I discovered the raw food diet which helped me a lot in terms of reducing chronic indigestion. A couple years later I started doing regular colon cleanses. The first I tried was based on herbs and worked very well. Only thing was that it cost $325. To save money, I tried some less expensive powders that absolutely did not work – just like you describe. Then 5 years ago I found a great herbal cleanse product that works about as well as the first one I did and costs a lot less. That’s the one I do and recommend to my friends and family. I can give it my highest praise as quality product from a small company that really cares. I’ll leave you with the link to their site below. Best of luck to you. Mark

Your Colon does not need help cleansing it’s self other than eating a healthy high fiber diet. Even when you don’t eat especially well, your colon is very efficient at keeping it’s self going. In fact, some of the so called "cleansing" treatments can be quite harmful to your body. Stay clear of the woo woo that comes from the so called "health food" movement, there’s nothing healthy in that crazy stuff.
