Does anyone know of or has tried a good colon cleanse?

February 7th, 2010 by admin

I’ve heard that you should do a colon cleanse 1-2 times per year. About 3-4 years ago the doctor told me I had IBS with constipation, he wanted me to take this powder that was spendy and didn’t do anything. I stopped taking it and just accepted that I was constipated all the time. I would be in extreme pain from it. Well about 7 months ago they found cancer in my dad’s colon. They think they got it all and he has been through chemo. That’s when I realized how important it is that I do something about my IBS and that it wasn’t healthy to be sooo backed up. I started to treat it myself. Eating Fiber One bars, drinking extra water, eating lots more fruit and just eating better in general. This has gotten me to be regular. My thing is if normal people have toxins in their colon and body then I know I have A LOT. If I could go back I wouldn’t have let my IBS get so out of control. Does anybody have any recommendations on Colon Cleanse pills. I’ve been googling it for a few weeks and my head is spinning with all the products and reviews out there!

Hi Macy,

First thing, I’m really hope that the got all of your dad’s cancer. Second thing, I think it’s great that you want to address your digestive system now and improve it. 10 years ago, I was in a similar position as you. At that time I discovered the raw food diet which helped me a lot in terms of reducing chronic indigestion. A couple years later I started doing regular colon cleanses. The first I tried was based on herbs and worked very well. Only thing was that it cost $325. To save money, I tried some less expensive powders that absolutely did not work – just like you describe. Then 5 years ago I found a great herbal cleanse product that works about as well as the first one I did and costs a lot less. That’s the one I do and recommend to my friends and family. I can give it my highest praise as quality product from a small company that really cares. I’ll leave you with the link to their site below. Best of luck to you. Mark

Your Colon does not need help cleansing it’s self other than eating a healthy high fiber diet. Even when you don’t eat especially well, your colon is very efficient at keeping it’s self going. In fact, some of the so called "cleansing" treatments can be quite harmful to your body. Stay clear of the woo woo that comes from the so called "health food" movement, there’s nothing healthy in that crazy stuff.

Has anyone tried this Acai Berry/ Colon Cleansing diet that I keep hearing about?

January 31st, 2010 by admin

It seems too good to be true and even though there are offers of free trials, they aren’t free if you don’t return the product within two weeks. And the one that I research charged 90 dollars afterward for each bottle of 30 day supply. It seems like it could be a rip off and it seems expensive. Has anyone actually tried it and does it work?

t’s a scam.

Is this diet a sensible one?

January 30th, 2010 by admin

I found this diet plan for a quick way to slim down.

Is it legit…? Would it work? I would like to get into pilates/yoga and change my diet, so let me know what you think of this diet I found on a site:

"Step 1
Detox is the way to go. Cleanse the colon and help your liver. Your liver is your filter, you have to take care of this thing or your body will get stuck with fattening toxins

Step 2
To take care of your liver, I am going to list the foods you will only eat for one week. Mix them up, find recipes and get creative. But remember to stick to just these foods and remember to portion correctly

- cabbage, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, broccoli
- parsley, kale, watercress, chard, cliantro, collards
- orange or lemon, lime juice (no grapefruit!)
- garlic, onions, eggs
- artichoke, asparagus, beets, celery, whey
- 1 time a day eat a serving (the size of the palm of your hand)of protein
- olive oil or flaxseed oil

Step 3
For your Colon eat and use the following:

- carrot, apple, pear, berries
- powdered psyllium husks, milled or ground flaxseeds

Step 4
Drink Filtered water cut with Organic Cranberry juice

Only drink that through out the day. And drink as much of it as you can to flush out the toxins (the more you drink the more you help get rid of cellulite)

Step 5
NO SUGAR, NO WHITES, NO ALCOHOL, NO CAFFEINE

STICK TO ORGANIC AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE

Step 6
Stick to this diet and I promise the inches will start to melt off. Weight will follow. Your clothes will start to get big on you and you are going to feel AWESOME.

You should do the cleansing diet once every month. I personally just try to eat these foods no matter what and all I drink is water and organic cranberry"

I am not fat or overweight. I am wanting to get like…really slim though, so would this be a good diet for that? Or is it junk?

If you just want to get slim sure. However eating more protein will help you feel fuller for longer. When I needed to drop about 20 lbs I did this:
Breakfast : Carb and protein breakfast. Quesh, Omelet and wheat toast, or a BLT on wheat toast were my favorites.
Lunch: Salad with lots of veggies and some sun flower seeds or a small can of chicken with a vinaigrette or a reduced calorie dressing like Catalina was always good.
Dinner: Eat light. A can of soup will do wonders.
Snacks: celery with chunky peanut butter. (it has fewer calories then the smooth does.) Yogurt and Graham crackers, or one of the right bite packages of gold fish crackers, and of course fruit.
Drink lots or water no matter what diet you chose. Also remember it’s not the end of the world if you eat something not on your diet. Allowing your self to cheat a little helps you stay on track.
Trust me I went from a size 18 to a size 12 this way. I’m going back on it too since I gained more weight recently so I can get down to a size 8-10. (I’m 5′10" so that’s actually a fairly healthy size for me)

Has anyone tried those free trials of Acai berry or colon cleanse on-line?

January 28th, 2010 by admin

I have seen these adds before for the Acai berry and the colon cleanse for a free 30 day trial but I’m afraid it is a rip off. Has anyone every ordered it and not gotten ripped off? Any success with weight loss? I have seen the juices and pills in GNC stores but not sure about those either. Comments?

These products are a waste of money and don’t work. Please don’t fall for all the spam adverts you see.

There are a lot of scams around – people have lost a lot of money ordering these on line with the so called "free trials".

No pill, potion or supplement will help. All you need to lose weight is a good healthy diet and exercise – it takes time and motivation :)

If you want to lose 36lbs in 2 months, you’ll need to do cardio for 1 hour non-stop every day. You’ll drink 10 glasses of water every day. You’ll eat breakfast, but nothing heavy. Just have cereal, and if you drink milk, you should pour skim only. Don’t eat cereal with a lot of sugar. For lunch, just have a salad, with mustard. Mustard for me, usually makes me full, I have no idea why, and it’s low on calories. And for dinner, you should make your self a small soy shake of strawberries. Buy soy milk, get strawberries and blend them and pour it to a small glass, and that also makes you full. That’s it. Don’t eat later than 7pm. I did this and lost like, 40 lbs in 2 months, and it’s been a year and have kept the weight off.

What are the REAL results of those colon cleanse products?

January 24th, 2010 by admin

I know there are many different brands, so please include that name of the one you tried.

What did they really do for you?
Did you just go to the bathroom a lot? If so, was it so much that it was a problem in daily life?
Did you have stomach cramps?
Did it cause diarrhea or nausea?
Did you really pass anything weird like in some of the photos they have at the sites?
Did you feel better? If so, was it within a few days or immediately?
How long did you take it?
How did you feel when you stopped taking it?
Did you change your diet with it and if so, was it a diet plan?
Do you have any health problems like I.B.S. or spastic colon or chronic bloating or chronic constipation and how did it affect you?

Please include everything you can think of. I’m not really interested in these for weight loss, though that would be a benefit, but to see if any of them improve how I feel overall.

Thanks to everyone that replies with a good, honest, helpful answer.

They cleanse your wallet really well. And they are unnecessary.

If you feel your colon needs cleaning – get Fleet Phoso-soda – that is what they tell people to take before a colonoscopy or colon surgery. It is about $2.50 at any drug store.

If you have problems with constipation – drink more water and eat more fiber.

Has anyone used the acai berry and colon cleanse free offer?

January 21st, 2010 by admin

My concern is that they will continue to bill my credit card after using the trial offer? Does the stuff work?

its a scam
does not work. read the journal of applied physiology, the american journal of clinical nutrition, the new england journal of medicine.
you will not find proof that this crap does anything other than give your money and credit card numbers to internet scam artists.
